Anchor
Company overview
Anchor is a YC-backed fintech (Summer 2022) that enables African businesses to embed banking services using APIs, dashboards, and regulatory infrastructure.
Founded in 2021 in Lagos, it simplifies creation of accounts, funds transfers, card issuance, savings, credit products, and more—all supported by compliance coverage and banking relationships.
The platform supports diverse business cases—from SaaS and e-commerce to health wallets and corporate payroll—letting companies launch financial products in weeks.
Anchor’s integration-first approach positions it as a key infrastructure enabler, helping foster financial inclusion and digital transformation across emerging African economies
Story
Founded by Segun, Olamide, and Gbeke after recognizing critical gaps in Africa’s banking infrastructure, Anchor emerged to empower startups to offer embedded finance. With prior track records (e.g., Amplifypay, JUMO expansion), the founders built Anchor to reduce friction in launching financial products—leveraging API infrastructure and compliance partnerships to redefine BaaS in Africa.
