Event Overview Africa Skills Week (ASW) 2025 is organized by the African Union Commission in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Skills of Ethiopia. This second edition aims to build on the success of the inaugural event in 2024, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, educators, youth, and development partners to address skills development across the continent. African Union Theme and Objectives The theme for ASW 2025 is “Powering Africa’s Industrial Future: Skills for Innovation, Growth, and Sustainability.” The event will focus on several key objectives, including: a. Accelerating the implementation of the Continental TVET Strategy 2025–2034 to enhance technical and vocational education and training (TVET) across Africa. b. Promoting public-private partnerships to align skills development with industrial needs and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). c. Fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among youth and women, ensuring their active participation in shaping Africa's future.
