Jumia Technologies AG (NYSE: JMIA) is an African e-commerce company operating a marketplace with logistics and payment services across Africa. Founded in 2012 in Lagos, Nigeria by Jeremy Hodara, Sacha Poignonnec, Tunde Kehinde and Raphael Kofi Afaedor with Rocket Internet backing, it went public on the NYSE in April 2019 raising $196 million. Its official locations page lists eight active markets: Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Uganda.
