Biography
Afolabi Abimbola is on a mission to democratize finance in Africa — one product, platform, and partnership at a time. As Founder and CEO of KrediBank, he’s building a next-gen digital bank designed for scale: simplifying savings, lending, and payments for the underserved, while helping SMEs and entrepreneurs grow with confidence.
With over 15 years of experience across fintech, banking, and digital business development, Afolabi has led transformation efforts at companies like Renmoney, Fetswallet, CreditPlus MFB, and Opera’s Opay, where he launched and scaled growth-driving partnerships.
At KrediBank, he combines operational grit with product strategy — overseeing everything from lifecycle management and compliance to go-to-market execution. He’s a firm believer in accessible banking, radical simplicity, and technology as a leveller.
Afolabi holds a Master’s degree in International Business from Coventry University, and is a graduate of Lagos Business School’s entrepreneurship program. He regularly speaks on the future of financial inclusion, digital banking infrastructure, and Africa’s readiness for population-scale fintech.
